Registered Counselling Therapist

Halifax Trans & Nonbinary Therapist

I work with teens and adults who are exploring their gender identity or navigating life as trans, nonbinary, or gender-diverse. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or simply wanting a space where they don’t have to explain themselves. Whether you're questioning your identity, considering transition, or looking for support in relationships or day-to-day life, I’m here to help.

What I Can Help You With

Gender identity can be deeply personal, and sometimes very complicated. I offer a space where you can explore who you are, what you need, and how you want to move forward. Whether you're beginning to question your gender, navigating a social or medical transition, experiencing gender dysphoria, or facing emotional exhaustion, stigma, or relationship challenges, I’m here to support you in finding your next step.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is grounded in respect, collaboration, and compassion. I use evidence-based approaches like narrative, solution-focused, and collaborative therapy to help you explore your identity, build resilience, and connect with your sense of self. Whether you’re in a place of uncertainty or growth, we’ll work together to help you build confidence, gain insight, and find happiness.

My Experience

As a queer and trans therapist with lived experience of medical transitioning, I provide affirming, compassionate care informed by over a decade of providing therapy to 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. I currently serve as the Clinical Director at Insight Mental Health Counselling, with previous roles as a Counsellor at Dalhousie University and a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician for the BC government. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling (M.Ed) from Acadia University, where my thesis on the intersection of mental illness and identity was nominated for a Governor General’s Award.
