Registered Counselling Therapist

Trans & Nonbinary Therapist in Halifax

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or lost? I’m Jules, a Halifax-based therapist offering affirming therapy for teens and adults who are trans, nonbinary, gender-diverse, or exploring their identity. Together, we’ll work through anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, gender dysphoria, coming out, and minority stress.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

As a queer and trans therapist with lived experience of medical transition, I offer a supportive space to reflect on who you are, who you want to be, and how to get there. Many 2SLGBTQIA+ clients appreciate working with me because I won’t tell you what to do. Instead, we’ll make sense of what you’re facing and find a way forward that feels right for you.

My Approach to Therapy

In sessions, I use narrative therapy to help you build insight and reconnect with your values, strengths, and preferred ways of living. I love asking curious questions that help you find clarity, fulfillment, and your next steps. We’ll also explore how broader systems and societal expectations have shaped your world so you can navigate your life with more confidence.

My Experience

I’m a WPATH-trained therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience and currently serve as the Clinical Director at Insight Mental Health Counselling. Previously, I worked as a Counsellor at Dalhousie University and as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician with the BC government. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling (M.Ed.) from Acadia University; my thesis on the intersection of mental illness and identity was nominated for a Governor General’s Award.
