Registered Counselling Therapist

Trans & Nonbinary Therapist in Halifax

I work with teens and adults who are exploring their identity or navigating life as trans, nonbinary, or gender diverse. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling unsure, overwhelmed or lost. You might be dealing with anxiety or depression, going through a transition, or facing challenges in school, work, or relationships that are making life difficult to enjoy.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

As a queer and trans therapist with lived experience of medical transition, I offer a supportive space to reflect on who you are, who you want to be, and how to get there. Many 2SLGBTQIA+ clients appreciate working with me because I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of telling you what to do, we’ll collaborate to make sense of what you’re facing and find a way forward that feels right for you.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is evidence-based and grounded in narrative and solution-focused therapy. In sessions, I’ll help you make sense of what you’re going through, reconnect with your values and strengths, and find your next steps. We’ll also explore how broader systems and societal expectations have shaped your world so you can navigate your life with more confidence.

My Experience

I’m a WPATH-trained therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience and currently serve as the Clinical Director at Insight Mental Health Counselling. Previously, I worked as a Counsellor at Dalhousie University and as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician with the BC government. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling (M.Ed.) from Acadia University; my thesis on the intersection of mental illness and identity was nominated for a Governor General’s Award.
