Narrative Therapy believes that you have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments, and abilities that can assist with the problems you experience. It seeks to help you understand your relationship with the problems to find solutions. This type of therapy also considers the broader context of your life and can include conversations about class, race, gender, sexual orientation, and ability.

Narrative therapists are curious and ask A LOT of questions to help you explore the problems you’re experiencing. They provide a caring, respectful, and non-judgmental space to work through challenges and find solutions. Through these therapeutic conversations they hope that new possibilities can be explored in relation to the problems and finding solutions.

No Assessments Needed

At Insight Mental Health Counselling our process is easy. In the Intake Session, we’ll review consent and our practice policy. Instead of long and intrusive assessments, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy and how we can help. Sessions after that will focus on exploring and finding solutions to the problems you are experiencing. Before the intake session, we recommend getting to know our narrative therapists here.
