About Julia


Having completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Health Studies and Psychology from McMaster University, a Master’s of Education in Counselling (MEd) from Acadia University, a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (RCT-C), and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC), I have the education, qualifications, and knowledge to help kids, teens, and adults.


I have over 9 have years of experience researching, volunteering, and working in the mental health sector. Currently, I am a part-time counsellor at Dalhousie University and in the past, I worked as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician for the BC Government as well as a personal counsellor at Acadia University. My master’s thesis (researching mental illness and identity) was nominated for a Governor Generals Award. 


In counselling sessions I use:
